Homemade Soda Bread

Ingredients
- 500g Plain Flour
- 2 tsp Bicarb Soda
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 400ml Buttermilk
Method
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees

- Sift the flour and bicarb soda into a large mixing bowl
- Make a well in the centre and add the Buttermilk slowly, stirring as you go
- Once a soft dough is formed turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Dough should be soft and just off sticky
- Lightly kneed dough into a rough ball
- Transfer onto a floured baking tray
- Using a large knife, cut 2 cross sections 2/3 through the dough to form a cross
- Put into oven and bake for 40-45mins. Bread is ready if it sounds hollow when tapped from underneath.
